Slightly shortened version of a sportsnetwork special on the fight between Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard.The outcome of fights will always be displeasing to some and bring joy to others, but let's try to appreciate these great athletes and warriors by giving them our admiration for what they did.Hagler was one of the best middleweights ever, feared by most at the time and for good reason. He fought like a champion against Ray Leonard. Ray on the other hand had been out of boxing for a few years and came right back to challange the most feared boxer at that time and he did it by also going up in weight from welterweight to middleweight, the fact that he could hang in there and was willing to do so against Hagler is amazing to me.Did Ray deserve to win, my own gut feeling says no, but if he lost, I would have still considered this to be a high risk and almost crazy fight for Leonard to take on.I felt Hagler won the fight, but Ray won the crowd.
