Socialism Can't thrive without Capitalism. Oil rich socialist Venezuela suffers from food shortages, looting and economic collapse because their economies wealth was entirely dependent on higher oil prices. Socialist have a hard time innovating and attracting capital because of high taxes and little to no incentive to work for any entity other than government. In the socialist Utopia acquiring wealth or striving to better oneself is frowned upon. Which of course leaves people without ANY PURPOSE! except to CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT WHICH ULTIMATELY LEADS TO STARVATION, CIVIL UNREST AND ULTIMATELY WAR! In the event you're presented with an argument that a socialist country is thriving ask the question 'Are all forms of capitalism eliminated from that country?' Capitalism doesn't need socialism to function properly. socialism in capitalistic nation like America for example only slows down economic progress.
